MY PRE-TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

This portafolio serve as a tool for my professional development, fostering grownth through reflective practices. Its main purpose is to facilitate the definition of professional goals and to evaluate the path taken to achieve them. My dedication to teaching is nurtured by a deep interest in guiding students in transferring knowledge to new contexts, with an emphasis on information retention. I am also committed to cultivating student autonomy. With this dossier, I hope to learn about effective methods for achieving these goals and to understand how my teaching process contributes to them. The main aspects covered in this dossier are Motivations for teaching: exploring the driving forces behind my commitment to education. Favorite teaching methods: articulating the approaches I consider most effective in facilitating knowledge transfer and promoting student autonomy. Teaching goals, methods, and strategies: clearly define the goals I have set for my teaching, as well as the methods and strategies I have used to achieve them: explain how my teaching practices are consistent with the overall goals described in this dossier, Personal teaching goals: describe the specific goals I have set for myself as an educator, including professional development and improvement of my teaching skills. Through this comprehensive dossier, I intend not only to track my progress, but also to better understand the dynamics of effective teaching, focused on the transfer of knowledge and the development of independent learners.

Philosophy

I have been growing and developing as a student teacher of national and foreign languages since 2022. My teaching philosophy will be based on all the knowledge developed when moving from the concrete to the abstract by having my future students practice, learn and transform what they have learned into language. I will always try to be a sensitive observer of classroom interaction, to always learn from my mistakes and to continue my professional development far beyond my future studies.

My History

I am a student of the Pedagogy career of the National and Foreign Languages. Throughout my learning I have learned about several pedagogues who made a change in education. My teachers instilled in me the values and principles to be able to perform a good environment in the classroom. In school my English teachers did their job in the best way encouraging and stimulating a better learning of the English language in the children. Throughout the years in the school my English teachers taught the class a little more reluctantly but the class continued to understand each other so that each student could develop in a good way with English.

My Pre-Teaching Philosophy

A teaching philosophy is a dynamic, personal compass reflecting one's educational beliefs, constantly evolving throughout a teaching career. Inspired by Jerome Bruner's transformative theories, my motivation lies in the power of education, emphasizing discovery learning, active engagement, and the cultural context of cognitive development. Teaching, for me, is more than information transfer; it's about creating a student-centered environment fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. "Children aged 2 to 7 progress from basic sensory-motor integration to an advanced stage of extended verbal symbolism, shaped by increasingly complex external feedback. My pre-teaching philosophy prioritizes dynamic and active engagement, especially tailored to the unique language-learning needs of today's younger generation." (Second Language, 2006)

Methods and Strategies

I advocate for Bruner's discovery learning, encouraging students to actively participate through hands-on experiences, capturing attention and promoting critical thinking. The Spiral Curriculum guides my lesson planning, emphasizing the importance of revisiting and building upon prior knowledge for a deeper understanding. Through consistent integration of Bruner's principles, I design activities that align with discovery learning, encouraging active student engagement. This approach aims to reinforce foundational concepts and facilitate the practical application of knowledge to new contexts, fostering deeper understanding and critical thinking. We can also see that through many studies and discoveries made in the past decade, technology has made man advances towards the learning of a second language. The application of computer technology and CALL programs has become a new trend in recently global second language learning instructions. Research findings have proven that the use of computer technology has a positive effect on the achievement levels of English as Second Language (ESL) students. Personal Goals as a Teacher

Aligned with Bruner's emphasis on scaffolding learning and language acquisition, my personal goals involve providing guidance and support to facilitate cognitive growth. I seek to incorporate playful and dialogic learning strategies to enhance linguistic development. Embracing social interaction principles, I aspire to create an inclusive, diverse learning environment that supports students in developing language skills, fostering long-term memory, and promoting comprehensive comprehension. My focal point is to be a motivating force for students, inspiring them to learn a new language and leveraging all available resources for their educational journey.
