TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy

I have been growing and developing as a student teacher of national and foreign languages since 2022. My teaching philosophy will be based on all the knowledge developed when moving from the concrete to the abstract by having my future students practice, learn and transform what they have learned into language. I will always try to be a sensitive observer of classroom interaction, to always learn from my mistakes and to continue my professional development far beyond my future studies.

My History

I am a student of the Pedagogy career of the National and Foreign Languages. Throughout my learning I have learned about several pedagogues who made a change in education. My teachers instilled in me the values and principles to be able to perform a good environment in the classroom. In school my English teachers did their job in the best way encouraging and stimulating a better learning of the English language in the children. Throughout the years in the school my English teachers taught the class a little more reluctantly but the class continued to understand each other so that each student could develop in a good way with English.

My Pre-Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in the principles of discovery learning, active engagement, and the cultural context of cognitive development. Influenced by Jerome Bruner's theories and the Montessori method, I am committed to creating a student-centered environment that caters to the unique language-learning needs of today's younger generation. I believe in blending active learning and critical thinking to meet the innate developmental needs of children, nurturing their curiosity, independence, and love for learning through hands-on activities and scaffolded learning experiences. Montessori education, with its emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural psychological development, resonates with my approach. I aim to foster a love of learning based on intrinsic motivation and to empower each child to explore, discover, and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning, integrating the best of both educational philosophies.

Methods and Strategies

The methods I believe are most effective in my teaching approach blend the principles of both discovery learning and the Montessori method. I advocate for discovery learning, where students actively engage with the material, make connections, and construct their own knowledge. Simultaneously, as a Montessori teacher, I place great value on child-centered, experiential learning methods. My approach emphasizes hands-on activities, real-world skills, and the use of specific learning materials tailored to each child's developmental stage. Integrating these approaches, I strive to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.

Personal Goals as a Teacher

My personal goals as an educator encompass a continuous refinement of teaching methods, drawing inspiration from both Jerome Bruner's principles and the Montessori method. I aspire to adapt to the diverse needs of my students, creating a positive and collaborative learning environment that reflects the essence of both educational philosophies. In pursuit of intellectually stimulating lessons, I aim to align with Bruner's emphasis on the cultural and social dimensions of learning. Simultaneously, my commitment involves an ongoing understanding and implementation of the Montessori method, tailoring my approach to individual student needs. To achieve these goals, I actively stay informed about educational research and developments, seeking to enhance and innovate my teaching practices in response to the evolving landscape of education.
